iPad Backup and Restore

Backing up you iPad to iCloud allows you to keep your local data safe. Once an iPad is backed up, it can be restored to a new iPad or a freshly wiped one.

Warning...
Do not use iTunes to backup your iPad.
This will break your iPad's ability to work with the MDM.

How To Backup Your iPad

Here you will learn how to backup your iPad to your Apple ID's iCloud account.

Every Apple ID that is registered with the Oxnard School District has an iCloud account where you can sync and store pictures and other app data.

Please be aware that not all apps support iCloud backup.

There currently isn't a plan to support applications that don't work with iCloud.

You can watch the video below for a step by step process to backing up your iPad.

What is iCloud?

iCloud is an internet based service that allows you to sync items like pictures, videos, documents, and other app information from your Apple device.

How do I sync my iPad to the iCloud?

Go to Settings and sign in to your device with your OXNARDSD.ORG Apple ID. When you sign in, iCloud is turned on automatically.

    • Check your iCloud settings

Go to Settings, tap [your name], then select iCloud. Choose the apps—like Photos, Contacts, Calendars, and third-party apps—that you want to use with iCloud.

Set up iCloud on your other devices to keep your content up to date everywhere.

Ok, that's done. Did I backup my iPad?

Not yet, you're just syncing your iCloud based programs now.
